Volume 2
Where once he made a Clash-like racket with just his voice and an electric guitar, this second stage of his career finds him adding to his band and expanding his lyrical reach. Though still a caustic rabble-rouser, Bragg revealed he was equally adept at discussing the struggles of love as he was at discussing the struggles of the working class.
Volume 2 chronicles Bragg's gradual addition of a full band to his formerly sparse guitar and vocal arrangements. The four reissues are Workers Playtime, Don't Try This At Home, William Bloke, and England, Half English. A bonus DVD featuring an entire televised concert from 1991 and a 2006 live performance is only available as part of the 9-disc box set. Each original has been re-mastered as have the five discs of bonus material, much of it previously unavailable and handpicked by Billy and longtime Bragg cohorts Grant Showbiz and Wiggy.

Don't Try This At Home
1991's Don't Try This at Home comes complete with Peter Buck, Johnny Marr, Michael Stipe, Kirsty MacColl, and perhaps most shockingly of all, drums! The album also introduced us to one of his best known songs, "Sexuality."
As with Volume 1, each release features the re-mastered original and a second disc of bonus material, much of it previously unavailable and handpicked by Billy and longtime Bragg cohorts Grant Showbiz and Wiggy.

William Bloke
Bragg's talents at examining interpersonal relationships continued to mature on 1996's William Bloke, an album that, according to All Music Guide, "reminds listeners that the well-missed Bragg is super valuable, even when firing flowers instead of bullets."
As with Volume 1, each release features the re-mastered original and a second disc of bonus material, much of it previously unavailable and handpicked by Billy and longtime Bragg cohorts Grant Showbiz and Wiggy.

England, Half English
England, Half English was Bragg's 2002 solo follow-up to the Grammy-nominated Wilco-collaboration Mermaid Avenue. It shows
his musical adventurism continuing to develop as he and his now-steady backing band The Blokes dabble in neo-ska, gospel soul, and polyrhythmic world beats.
As with Volume 1, each release features the re-mastered original and a second disc of bonus material, much of it previously unavailable and handpicked by Billy and longtime Bragg cohorts Grant Showbiz and Wiggy.

Volume 1
"Trying to change the world by singing about it is a dirty business but someone has to do it." -- Billy Bragg, 1988 Billy Bragg, once-described as a "one-man Clash," has spent the last two decades writing and performing passionate, witty, socially conscious music. In doing so, he's forged a career that has seen the London Times declare him a "national treasure," while here in the states, Woody Guthrie's daughter, Nora, handpicked Bragg to resurrect the spirit of America's own radical dissenter, assigning him the task of bringing Woody's unfinished songs and lyrics to life. The latter's result, Mermaid Avenue, brought him and collaborators Wilco a Grammy nomination. 1983's Life's a Riot With Spy Vs. Spy first introduced the world to Billy's style -- roughly strummed electric guitar and stark vocals belying a keen sense of melody and committed, deeply humane lyrics on topics ranging from life and love to social upheaval and the plight of the working class. Yep Roc Records has re-issued Bragg's first four releases singly and as a 9-disc box set that includes 2 bonus DVDs with previously unavailable live footage. The releases include his debut, along with Brewing Up With Billy Bragg, Talking to the Taxman About Poetry, and a disc that combines the The Internationale and Live & Dubious EPs. Each release will feature the re-mastered original and a second disc of bonus material, much of it previously unavailable and handpicked by Billy and longtime Bragg cohorts Grant Showbiz and Wiggy -- a labor of love indeed.

Life's a Riot with Spy vs. Spy
Billy Bragg, once-described as a "one-man Clash," has spent the last two decades writing and performing passionate, witty, socially conscious music. On September 6, Yep Roc Records will re-issue Life's a Riot With Spy Vs. Spy, 1983's mini-LP that first introduced the world to Billy's style -- roughly strummed electric guitar and stark vocals belying a keen sense of melody and committed, deeply humane lyrics on topics ranging from life and love to social upheaval and the plight of the working class.
Recorded live to 2-track tape for free over the course of three afternoons in Chappell Music's tiny demo studio in the modest hope of selling the occasional copy at early gigs, Life's a Riot... had initial sales topping 50,000 (ultimately over 120,000) without the aid of advertising. It spent 12 weeks at #1 on the UK indie chart and reached #32 in the national LP chart and featured his first underground anthem -- "A New England."
This CD includes a second disc of bonus material, much of it previously unavailable and handpicked by Billy and longtime Bragg cohorts Grant Showbiz and Wiggy.

Brewing Up with Billy Bragg
Billy Bragg, once-described as a "one-man Clash," has spent the last two decades writing and performing passionate, witty, socially conscious music. On September 6, Yep Roc Records will re-issue Brewing Up With Billy Bragg, Billy's 1984 sophomore effort, with the addition of 1985's Between the Wars EP. The album title comes from his brief stint on tank patrol in the British army, about which Billy says, "One guy would park the tank and another would throw the camouflage netting over it, while one of us inside would brew up a pot of tea. But the title could refer to brewing up trouble, as well."
The album's grassroots-fueled success made good on an early publicity claim, "Billy Bragg has no band, no 'experimental' haircut, no gimmick, and no video. He has a couple of cheap electric guitars, enormous personality, courage, integrity, a repertoire of timeless songs and, very shortly, a second gold disc to give to his Mum."
This CD includes a second disc of bonus material, much of it previously unavailable and handpicked by Billy and longtime Bragg cohorts Grant Showbiz and Wiggy.

Talking with the TaxmanAbout Poetry
Billy Bragg, once-described as a "one-man Clash," has spent the last two decades writing and performing passionate, witty, socially conscious music. On September 6, Yep Roc Records will re-issue Talking with the Taxman About Poetry, Billy's 1985 album, about which Rolling Stone glowed, "On this album, cheerfully subtitled 'The difficult Third Album,' Bragg expands his pared-down sound ever-so-slightly (violin here, piano and tambourine there). While purists might bitch, the result is a winning mesh, as clever as Elvis Costello, as melodic as Ray Davies and as rocking as Chuck Berry."
This CD includes a second disc of bonus material, much of it previously unavailable and handpicked by Billy and longtime Bragg cohorts Grant Showbiz and Wiggy.

The Internationale/Live & Dubious
Billy Bragg, once-described as a "one-man Clash," has spent the last two decades writing and performing passionate, witty, socially conscious music. On September 6, Yep Roc Records will re-issue Live and Dubious, Billy's first album containing live material, combined with The Internationale, a 1990 EP of global and historical political anthems and revolutionary ballads.
The Internationale features everything from a brass band and a Welsh choir on the title track to the Spanish language "Nicaragua, Nicaraguita."
The equally fiery Live and Dubious, originally released in 1988 with the subtitle Help Save the Youth of America, came with this message from Billy: "I have no vote in your Presidential election yet its outcome will directly affect my future and the future of millions of people around the world ... Remember, when you elect a President, you are electing a President for all of us. Please be more careful this time."
This CD includes a second disc of bonus material, much of it previously unavailable and handpicked by Billy and longtime Bragg cohorts Grant Showbiz and Wiggy.
