Other People
American Princes, the Little Rock, Ark. outfit that turned heads with the Pixiefied power-pop album Less and Less has just completed follow-up Other People. The group, now a five piece with the addition of keyboardist/guitarist Will Boyd, recorded at New York City studio The Fireplace with Chuck Brody, who's worked on records by the Wu-Tang Clan and Peter Bjorn and John. "A few friends have said it's our '80s record, but it's probably more Tears for Fears or Tom Petty than New Order," says singer/guitarist David Slade. "We wanted to include a bunch of weird, post-modern hooks, which made working with a predominately hip-hop producer all the more enticing."

Less and Less
Less and Less, American Princes' sophomore release for Yep Roc Records, documents a marked period of artistic growth for a band still pushing the limits. While still high on earnest, full-tilt indie rock, producer Alan Weatherhead (Sparklehorse, The Comas) has dispensed with their earlier, raw sound in favor of more-nuanced, pop-influenced territory. A 2005 tour with Lucero helped raise awareness of the Little Rock, AR band leading Popmatters to comment, "It's refreshing to hear an indie rock band that is more 'indie ROCK' than 'INDIE rock,'" and The Onion A/V Club to proclaim, "American Princes have a sound halfway between the expansive, apocalyptic pop-punk of Canadian bands like Constantines and the desperate, atonal boogie of Kings of Leon. Album number three can't come fast enough." Standard Jewel Case.

Little Spaces
Yep Roc Records is proud to introduce the next household name in indie rock: American Princes. "Little Spaces," their debut full-length delivers a bevy of terse, powerful, loud-as-hell rock n' roll straight from Arkansas to your soon-to-be-shaken musical world. The rotating lead vocals of guitarists Collins Kilgore and David Slade and bassist John Beachboard create a push and pull of remarkably powerful shifts of mood while drummer Matt Quin mans the throttle. The Nashville Scene calls them "Shaggy modern rock traditionalists" who are "putting the 'rock' back in indie rock." And Punk Planet says, "Thank goodness Little Rock is represented by someone besides Amy Lee of Evanescence. Give them a chance, because you won't be disappointed." Standard Jewel Case.
