eMusic will debut a exclusive AmericanaFest “Best of Americana” sampler in conjunction with Redeye Distribution, recorded live in downtown Nashville in mid-September. eMusic teased the sampler, out Oct. 15 and featuring Tift Merritt, Josh Rouse, Kim Richey and more, with a session video from the shoot. Speaking of Aoife, she will extend her fall tour with additional headlining shows, a pair of dates opening for Elephant Revival, and a slew of performances supporting The Lone Bellow. O’Donovan is currently in the midst of an East Coast and Midwest headlining run behind her “must-hear” (Rolling Stone) debut solo album, Fossils.
Since the album’s release, she has performed at Bonnaroo and the Grand Ole Opry, and toured with The Milk Carton Kids, A Prairie Home Companion’s Radio Romance Tour, and The Goat Rodeo Sessions, featuring Chris Thile and Yo-Yo Ma. She recently joined Jerry Douglas onstage at the Americana Music Awards to present Instrumentalist of the Year honors to Larry Campbell, and joined in a midnight bluegrass super-jam for the ages with Douglas, Campbell, David Bromberg, Black Prairie, Ed Helms, and more later that night.
