Highest first week sales and Billboard positions ever for Fountains of Wayne & Yep Roc.

Today Yep Roc Records set a new benchmark for the label with first week sales for Fountains of Wayne’s Sky Full of Holes.

First week sales of Sky Full of Holes were 11,728, the highest first week sales ever for the critically-acclaimed rockers. The album charted at #37 on the Billboard Top 200, also a new high for the band. To be declaring such superlatives for Sky is all the more impressive given the band’s previous sales success. The band has seen its share of Soundscans over the years having written the pop culture phenomenon “Stacy’s Mom.” Welcome Interstate Managers, the album that housed that single, has sold nearly over 500,000 copies to date.

In addition to the new high water mark set by the band, indie label Yep Roc Records also achieved a new milestone in the largest singles sales week and highest Billboard chart position in the 14-year history of the NC-based label. Label co-founder Glenn Dicker said, “It’s definitely a big day for us and we are so proud of the band for hitting this milestone. It’s also a great excuse for everyone at Yep Roc and Redeye Distribution to have some popsicles to celebrate and hopefully escape this NC heat!”

You can order Sky Full of Holes now at the Yep Roc Store.
