UPDATE: Listen to Los Straitjackets live musical interludes plus their in-studio interview on December 5th’s All Things Considered HERE on NPR’s archive.

Wednesday, December 5th beginning at 4pm EST NPR’s All Things Considered will be hosting Los Straitjackets live in their D.C. studios. The event will mark the first time in the program’s history that a live band has been incorporated into the broadcast. This performance comes on the heels of a deluxe reissuing of their latest album Jet Set as a 7 inch box set. This is a resequenced collection of the original 15 album tracks with one additional physical bonus track. Each of these 45’s showcase two songs that have been carefully selected to represent a stand alone piece in themselves all with individual artwork.

To encourage engagement from fans during the two-hour program, Los Straitjackets will hold a contest on Twitter asking fans to guess what song was just played. As the band plays each intro and outro, fans of the band will try to name the song on Twitter with the hashtag #losstraitjacketsNPR. From all the correct guesses, a winner will be chosen during each song to win a flight pin and shot glass. Los Straitjackets will be performing various songs at random during the interludes on All Things Considered, including those from their most recent album Jet Set.  After the band starts playing a song, tweet the title of the song using hashtag #losstraitjacketsNPR. From all those who guess correctly, one winner will be chosen at random and awarded a Jet Set flight pin and shot glass.  After all the songs are played, one lucky grand prize winner will be randomly chosen from the previous winners to receive a limited edition Jet Set 7” Box Set.

To sum it up: listen to NPR’s All Things Considered, hear a song you know and tweet the title using the hashtag #losstraitjacketsNPR (example tweet: Crime Scene #losstraitjacketsNPR).  If you’re the chosen correct winner, you get a flight pin, a shot glass and your name in the drawing for a limited edition Jet Set 7” Box Set.
